Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information Juniper Tangent LLC ("Juniper Tangent", "we") collects through this website and our apps, how we use it, and the choices you have. Some apps have their own, more detailed policy, linked below; where an app's own policy says more, it applies to that app.
The short version
- Our apps do not require an account, and we do not show advertising.
- We do not sell personal information, share it for advertising, or track you across other apps and websites.
- What you create in our apps is stored on your device, except where an app must send something to work, which is described below.
Coreo
Coreo collects nothing. It has no accounts, no servers, no analytics and no crash reporting. Your videos, drawings, notes and settings stay on your device, and nothing about you or your videos is sent to us or to anyone else. Coreo asks for access to your photo library only to import the videos you choose and to save the exports you ask it to save. Full details: Coreo privacy policy.
Broca
Broca is in development and not yet available. As it is designed today, your word lists, study history and settings are stored on your device and Broca has no account. To check a sentence you write, Broca sends that sentence and the word being practiced to a third-party language model service over an encrypted connection, and shows you the feedback it returns. We do not use those sentences for anything else. We will publish a full Broca privacy policy, naming the service it uses, before Broca is released.
Purchases
Purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple or Google. We do not receive your payment card details. Apple and Google tell us that a purchase was made so the app can unlock what you paid for, and they provide us with aggregate sales figures.
Information from Apple and Google
Apple and Google may give us aggregate figures, such as numbers of downloads. If you have chosen to share diagnostics with app developers in your phone's settings, they may also pass us crash information. That is their service, covered by their own privacy policies.
If you email us, we receive your address and your message and use them only to reply and to help you. We do not add you to a mailing list. Our email is hosted by Google Workspace.
This website
This website uses no cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. It is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may keep ordinary server logs, such as IP addresses, under GitHub's own privacy statement.
Children
Our apps are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your choices and rights
Because our apps keep your data on your device, you can delete it at any time by deleting it in the app or deleting the app. For anything we hold, such as emails you have sent us, you can ask us to tell you what we have, correct it or delete it by writing to jmt@junipertangent.com. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law, and we will honor them.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update it here and change the effective date above. If a change affects what an app collects, we will update the policy before that version of the app is released.
